What to do with the kids on a rainy day!

It's always a challenge with the youngsters at home when your all stuck indoors on a rainy day. I had a challenge provided for me to find some ideas that were Disney inspired. Thanks to the Disneyjr.com, Pinterest and some other ideas this is what I came up with! I decided to host a little Jake and The Neverland Pirate party for my kiddos. What kid doesn't enjoy a good treasure hunt and some pirates booty; add some crafts to that and we had a good old time!
First off I went onto Disneyjr.com and found tons of free printable's and craft ideas that were Jake and The Neverland Pirates. So I printed out a couple of coloring pages as well as some Color and cut your own puppet craft. We spent some time coloring, cutting and gluing our projects and even got to act out a little play with our puppets.
Then I bakes some sugar cookies; it just so happened that I have pirate themed cookie cutters. when the cookies were cooled I let the kids go at it and decorated their own. We had a pirate ship, sword and a ship wheel. I even found some treasure (skittles) that they could top them off with.
When I was planning for the party, which really wasn't necessary, I picked up some jewel shape reusable ice cubes from the dollar section at Target and some pirate swords and patches form the party section. Like I said though these could have easily been made from construction paper.
Next was our treasure hunt. I hid some chocolate coins, I happened to have on hand, some small bags of pirate booty and the "jewels" around the house. I sketched out a quick map and the kids and I grabbed our pirate swords and began our hunt for treasure!
The kids got a kick out of our pirate day and had a great time. It was super easy and really fun! Disneyjr.com has tons of ideas and crafts to do. so next time your stuck in the house on a rainy day, don't just sit around the television,  get up and have some Disney fun!

Ivory 2in1

So everyone in my family has all had a chance to try out the new Ivory 2in1hair and body wash. I have to say that I am usually a more "natural product" kind of gal but this is actually a pretty great product. Just yesterday my hubby was telling me how much he loves the body wash ad I've noticed a huge improvement on softness in his skin; talk about a 2for1! I've even been using it as shampoo and body wash myself for about two weeks. I do add conditioner after I rinse out the 2in1, but I must say it has been cleaning my hair just as well as anything I've tried in the past.
The biggest bonus in the quickness factor with the kiddos!!! I love being able to just suds them up from head to toe in one fail swoop!! I also have one little guy with very sensitive skin and this haven't bothered him at all; not even as a bubble bath.
Al in all I am really glad I got the chance to test this product, I'm not sure it's one I would have picked up on my own. But
between the soft skin, time saving factor and being able to have less clutter in the bathroom, I think we will stick with Ivory 2in1!
If you would like to give Ivory 2in1 a try or just find out more info you can check out their website www.ivory.com
Or you can purchase it at your local Target or Walmart.

Babybuds Review

Recently I, or my baby rather, was given the chance to check out a new toy and review it. The toy line is Babybuds and the baby toys are made using organic and biodegradable materials. The materials are naturally sustainable and Eco-friendly. The toys are also filled with virgin corn fiber and contain no harmful chemicals.

The toys we got to try are Hoot the Rattle Buddy and Mogo the Plush Buddy. When I fist saw the line of toys I wasn't sure how a little one would react to the muted, natural colors being that they aren't bright or have much contrast. Much to my surprise though, the moment I showed my daughter each of the toys her face instantly lit up and she giggled and reached for them. Again, thinking she would get bored of the muted colors, I was wrong. I get the same reaction every time I hand her either of them.
It's nice to know that there is a company making beautiful and entertaining toys that are not only safe for your precious little one but good the environment their growing up in. I am really glad I got the opportunity to test these adorable toys and I really hope that this company continues to grow so we can all have healthy and fun products for our families to enjoy!
